How WPM is calculated
Typing tests use a standard “word” of five characters, including spaces, so results are comparable across passages. Raw WPM counts every character you type; net WPM counts only correct characters.
Accuracy is the share of typed characters that match the passage. Speed without accuracy is rarely useful — aim for 95% or higher, then build speed.
